template: landscape and shell

Information from the Rhino model of a radiolarian’s cell and skeleton was projected and stretched to produce geometry for a template whose elements were folded (looped, creating an aperture), stretched (grown), and threaded through each other to begin to create a dynamic landscape with the potential to adapt to program requirements.


The same template was laser cut into Bristol paper and folded to create a module for a structural shell that will be adopted by the landscape.

  1. Hey, is this your project? Im looking into structural shells right now for studio, and I’m wondering how you jumped from the structural diagram into a literally folded structure.
